Relief Reservoir

Emigrant Wilderness

Relief Reservoir is beautiful in early spring but it is hot and dry in the summer. The trail from Kennedy Meadows to the high country of Emigrant Wilderness passes this way.

With the summer heat and the many horses on the trail, I like getting past this area on my way to Granite Dome. The Granite Dome area is my favorite place in Emigrant Wilderness and it is just a few hours of hiking past Relief Reservoir.
