The
climb to the top of Mount Dana is hard but the views from the top are
my favorite in all of Yosemite National Park. This peak is close to
Tioga Pass, just park at the pass and head for the top. It's closeness
to the road makes it a great day hike but it's steepness and the altitude
makes it difficult, especially at the top section.
This
mountain is covered with talus (broken rock) and the higher up on the
mountain you get the harder this rock is to walk on. The top right
picture was taken from Saddlebag Lake road.
