Iceland Lake in Emigrant Wilderness is the grand gem of Granite Dome. Camping at this lake can not be beat. When sleeping on the dome plan for a windy cold night even in July and August.

When you're on the Dome it is hard to find any of the lakes. A GPS or good map reading skills would be very helpful in finding them. Those who have been there know what I am talking about.

This whole area has very few signs of man and there are no visible trails. You feel like you are in virgin country. The lakes of Granite Dome are my favorite. It really is a must-see place. I return every couple of years, see you there.
